Scholarships

Are you keen to attend Fibres West but need a little help? Think about applying for one of the three excellent scholarships available.

1 – FIBRES WEST SCHOLARSHIP FUND – Fibres West 2019

The Fibres West Scholarship Fund was established in 2008. The Scholarship is used to assist a Fibres West participant who, without the benefit of the scholarship, would have difficulty attending the Fibres West event from 7 – 13 July 2019, at Muresk Institute.

The Scholarship will cover 80% of the full-fee registration cost with the recipient contributing 20% of the full-fee registration cost. The recipient will also be responsible for any materials fees charged for their chosen workshop.

Participants must be nominated by an individual or group. If the nominee is a student, they must be nominated by their tutor or teacher.

2 – WAFTA SCHOLARSHIP – Fibres West 2019

The Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association (Wafta) is offering the opportunity to its Members to apply for the Wafta Scholarship to attend Fibres West 2019. The applicant must be a financial member of Wafta both at the time of application and during Fibres West 2019. The selected recipient will be chosen on merit and their enthusiasm to promote fibre and textiles and Wafta.

The Scholarship is for $1,000 towards the full-fee registration cost, with the recipient contributing the balance of the full-fee registration and their materials list cost.

3 – West Australian Quilters’ Association Inc. Scholarship 2019

The West Australian Quilters’ Association (WAQA) is delighted to offer a scholarship to a WAQA member (who would have difficulty attending the event without such assistance) to attend Fibres West 2019.

The Applicant must be a financial member of WAQA both at the time of application and during Fibres West 2019. The selected recipient will be one whose participation will not only benefit themselves but also promote textile art in Western Australia.

The scholarship will cover AU$1000, with the recipient contributing the remaining full-fee registration cost.  The recipient will also be responsible for any materials fees charged for their chosen workshop.
